Co-sponsored by the James Ford Bell Library and the Minnesota Manuscript Research Laboratory*
This interactive workshop is a chance to learn--and practice--the historic methods of the scribe and printer from Charlemagne's early medieval court to Gutenberg's late medieval printing shop. A free lecture provides an introduction to the developments in calligraphy and letterpress printing in this time period. You'll have a chance to try your hand at the techniques and produce your own bookmarks. Workshop sections are limited to 30 people (children ages 10 and up are welcome), so register early to ensure your spot!
